FogWalk is a real-world exploration game that requires your location to function.

• Background and Foreground Location: We collect your device's location data to uncover the "Fog of War" on your map. This tracking occurs in the background as you move, ensuring you receive credit for your exploration even when the app is not actively open on your screen.

B. Account Information

To enable cloud syncing and cross-device functionality, we require you to create an account.

• We collect your email address and basic profile information when you authenticate using third-party providers (e.g., Google Sign-In).

C. Usage Data

We may collect anonymous analytics data regarding app performance, crashes, and general usage patterns to help us improve the game.

2. How We Protect Your Data

FogWalk is designed with a privacy-first architecture:

• Local Processing: Raw GPS coordinates are processed directly on your device and converted into abstract geographic indices (H3 cells).
• Cloud Sync: Your exploration data is securely transmitted and stored on our cloud servers (Firebase) to ensure your progress is saved and synced across devices.

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate FogWalk. These services may have access to some of your data under their respective privacy policies:

• Firebase (Google): Used for database storage (Cloud Firestore) and authentication.
• Google Sign-In: Used for user authentication.
• MapLibre GL & OpenFreeMap: Used to render the map interface locally on your device.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the FogWalk experience.
• Sync your exploration progress across your devices safely.
• Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your exploration data and account information are retained as long as your account is active.

• Data Deletion: You can request the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time from within the app settings or by contacting us at support@fogwalk.rhinepereira.in. Upon deletion, all your data will be permanently removed from our servers.

6. Children's Privacy

FogWalk is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
